My first reaction to this was definitely 'ugh', but iCal could use a better interface. I'll hold off on my judgement until I actually use it a while. If it works more efficiently I'll be happy.

Hmm, modal software. This used to be a very undesirable characteristic, a violation of the Mac interface guidelines. I don't see the problem with the way Pages handles layouts and word processing now. It sounds like Apple may be caving into the critics who want Pages to be more like Word. I hope not.

Both mine and my partner's regular EDGE/3G cellphones (Nokias) on AT&T drop calls at a horrific rate. When calls do connect, I've heard static, other people's conversations, and a constant background hiss well beyond what other cell networks have. I borrowed a friend's Sprint phone the other day because my battery ran out, and I was amazed at how clear the call was - and her cell was Sprints giveaway texting phone. This is in East Bay, CA.

The last round of iMacs are supposed to have new airport extremes that can be firmware upgraded to 802.11N. This is based upon a finding whilst using bootcamp and windowsXP/Vista(?). With Apples special TV thingy coming out next year (Steve Jobs announced at WWDC) all Macs really need wireless faster than G so it makes sense to upgrade them all to "n". So I strongly suspect the latest macbok pros have it - and it will be enabled next year.

I have got to admit with others! the battery drain is horrendous!!!! :mad:
I took my iPhone 3GS of charge at 9:30am, all apps are closed down, location services off and the battery has dropped down to 58% already within 5 hours!!
The phone has just been sat on my desk without being touched, no phone calls, texts or internet use what so ever! :confused:

Line at Brea Mall is to Macy's, probably about 150-200 people here.
Any idea how fast these lines move? This'll be the first time I've camped out for a product.

Once the line starts moving, it should move fairly quickly. All hands will be on deck at Apple and hopefully people have figured out which version they're purchasing in line.

What time do they usually do things? The Apple store is on my way to work. Will they do it tonight or like 4am tomorrow?
I have heard others say that it takes all night not only to put the new posters up but to put the new iMacs out and load them with the apple store software. I imagine they will have it ready for tomorrow morning as thats when the new iMacs will most likely go on sale. The website will take longer to update as I believe that is hosted in America and thus we have to take in to account the time difference thats why i assumed around 1pm, plus it was roughly the same for the macbook pro.

Apple has had a phenomenal run. They are doing this on all fronts. They have 2 Billion CASH! That is a big deal. It keeps the R&D funded. Soon they will be launching their new iWork suite and FCE. Both will provide another big boost in sales of HW.
Last January, the majority opinion suggested Apple Mac sales would at best be flat for a year while they transitioned to Intel. Yet, they have continued to increase across the board, in almost all product lines. This has been one h**l of an accomplishment.
Apple has it all going. I expect them to really make a significant statement over the next 6 months. I know they have really been keeping a closed door (and taking a lot of heat) recently. But, timing is everything. Things are going to explode. You shall bear witness.

Dell is losing out in all directions, but HP? They just became the #1 worldwide PC manufacturer again after increasing sales 6%. Dell meanwhile lost 6% last quarter.
I know a loss of 6% and a gain of 6% aren't the same numbers unless you start at a common baseline, but it doesn't take a genius to work out where most of Dell's lost sales went.

I'll say it before, and I'll say it again, this is a critical time for Apple and it's no time to be an Apple apologist. It's time to hold Apple's feet to the fire. Being soft on them isn't helping them. It's just enabling them not to realize their full potential.
OSX is good, but that's no reason for complacency. If Apple doesn't work out these bugs (and I know of more than a few irritating ones, besides the kernal vulnerabilities) it's not going to remain a quality product.

We'll all laugh at you when it doesn't :). There could a miracle surprise at the very end, but I'm 99% sure that Apple needs to deal with the ageing iOS and improve all of their current products. Again, this would put it one step ahead of Androids honeycomb.

Apple has great products, but we are going to be experiencing more than a recession. Donald Trump stated that what was going to happen in North America is going to make Russia look like a picnic during world war 2. The CEO of Wall-Street stated two years ago that there will be a world economic crash worse than what happened during the 1930's due to the amount of debt. The European Union Banks stated 1.5 years ago that they were preparing their banks for a world economic collapse. Unfortunately most of us are living the status quo and do not want to acknowledge that our way of life is going to drastically change. Unfortunately even a company as great as Apple will not be able to retain the level of what the stocks are worth even at todays low. My advice is pay of your debts... sell your stocks while you still have money, sell your home and then when the collapse occurs then invest.

Well Apple has used up all the "big cat" names like Tiger and Lion which means that either OS 11 is underway or they will be in the embarassing situation of having to use lesser cat names which imply "less".
